About

The history of The Stowaway Inn goes back almost 100 years. The oldest section of the building houses the commercial space/restaurant facing north on Buffalo Drive.
This building was moved to its current location from just outside of the original park gates in 1932. It has been home to various businesses over its lifetime, including a general store, and a bank.
In 1936 the middle section of the hotel was added on with the south portion of the hotel going up in 1942.
These two wings of the lodge were built to provide accommodation for visitors of RMNP.
The property was owned by the Doner family from its inception until the 1980’s when it was purchased and run by Jim Dudman.
In 2021 the property was purchased by Gillian and Patrick Sullivan and has undergone an extensive renovation after having been vacant for many years.
We look forward to hosting you at this beautiful, historic property nestled in the heart of the Wasagaming townsite.
